High Annual Fee
With an annual fee of $550, the Chase Sapphire Reserve® has an above-average annual fee. That said, if you consider the $300 travel credit, Priority Pass membership and other benefits, the effective cost is much lower for frequent travelers. For a traveler who doesn’t get out much, though, the fee might not be worth the rewards.
Excellent Credit Required
This card is for people with excellent credit (meaning 740+ FICO) only, so it might not be available for all applicants. If you’re looking to build or rebuild your credit, you should consider other Chase cards first — then upgrade once your score has increased.
